Osman Khaki, the son of Ali and Masoumeh, was born in 1344/11/9 Iranian calendar (29.01.1966) in the village Hassan Salaran of the district Sar Shiv of Saqqez city. As a child, he moved to Saqqez with his family and studied there. Due to poverty of the family, he was only able to complete the third grade of middle school. He inevitably started to work as a carpenter with his father to support his family. He was a skilled carpenter with a kind, friendly and loving personality.

He became a member of the Democratic Party of Kurdistan Iran in 1981. After joining the Democratic Party, he was able to do valuable services to save the lives of the people and his comrades by passing medical aid training courses. In 1985, due to dissatisfaction with the war between the Democratic Party and Komala, he left the party and returned to Saqqez. He surrendered to the occupying forces of the regime.

Osman was an opponent of the war between the Democratic Party and Komala, but he had a firm belief in the legitimate struggle of the Kurdish people and was disgusted with the tyranny and crimes of the clerical regime. This caused Osman to return to the ranks of the party for the second time. As an active member of inner-city teams of the party, he acted against the clerical regime.

He was arrested on suspicion by regime forces. Shortly after his arrest, he was shot and killed in a completely suspicious manner in prison on 1369/01/05 Iranian Calendar (25.03.1990).

The Islamic Republic justifies this crime as if Osman Khaki intended to escape from prison and confronted the prison guard officer physically. So they fired directly at him. The criminal act of the prison authorities caused Osman’s heart, full of hope and aspiration, to stop beating forever.

This young man joined the caravan of the immortals on the way to the liberation of Kurdistan. The authorities refused to return his body to his family until one month after this crime. His family succeeded in taking back his body one month later from these executioners.

Osman Khaki sacrificed his life for freedom, Kurdistan and its people. His memory remains unforgettable.

This memorandum was written by Mr. Ali Ahmadi.
