Abdullah Ostadi, the son of Mirza Shokur, was born in 1331 Iranian calendar (1932) in the village of Qozlu in the Hawshar region to a middle class farmer family. He was deprived of education due to the lack of school at that time. As a teenager he became acquainted with the tyranny and discrimination of Shah’s regime.
With the establishment of the Republic of Kurdistan in Mahabad in 1945, he joined the ranks of Kurdistan’s Peshmergas and remained faithful to this ideal for the rest of his life. After the defeat of the Republic of Kurdistan, he went to underground for a while. He returned to his family after the situation calmed down, but he never quit ties with the combatants of the Republic of Kurdistan. He always narrated the golden age of the Republic of Kurdistan to his family. After the fall of Shah’s regime, he joined the ranks of the Kurdistan Defense Forces.
He was arrested several times shortly after the Islamic regime invaded Kurdistan and took control of the Hawshar region in 1362 Iranian calendar (1983). He traveled to the city of Bukan in the same year. On his way back home, he was informed by a local mercenary in the city of Shahin Dej that the intelligence service was looking for him, so he had to report himself to that department.
After reporting himself to the intelligence service, he was detained in solitary confinement. His gut ruptured due to torture. He was released a week later. The intelligence service threatened him not to talk to anyone about the torture. He went to a doctor in Orumyia to treat the effects of torture. The doctor informed his family after his examination that there was no hope for his survival. He revealed the details of the torture in the intelligence office to his family, after that he returned home. He lost his life as a result of torture the day after and left endless grief to his family.
