The Iranian judiciary’s Mizan news agency reported that three Kurdish prisoners were executed in Urmia prison today June 25, 2025 (4/4/1404 Iranian Calendar). Idris Ali and Azad Shojaei from West Kurdistan and Rasoul Ahmad Mohammad, from South Kurdistan, were arrested by Iranian intelligence forces in early July 2023 on being accused of transporting weapons and equipment needed to assassinate Iranian nuclear specialist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh.
Iranian judiciary officials claimed that the three men had smuggled weapons and ammunition to Iran -under the guise of alcohol smuggling- for the assassination of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh by Israel. It is worth mentioning that three other persons have been executed in Iranian prisons in recent days on charges of espionage and collaboration with Israel.
The 12-day war between Israel and the Iranian regime resulted in a significant defeat for the Iranian regime, the destruction of its nuclear and missile infrastructure and the killing of dozens of senior military commanders and nuclear specialists. The Islamic regime is now taking revenge on those arrested on unjust charges of espionage and collaboration with Israel to compensate for war defeat. Thus, they intimidate the Iranian people and prevent them from protesting against the inhumane conditions in Iran.
The Nemiran Center strongly condemns the execution of three Kurdish Kolbars and calls on the public not to remain silent about the execution of these innocent persons.
