The Supreme Court of Iran has upheld the sentence imposed on a Kurdish Sunni Cleric, Mamosta Mohammad Khzrinezhad, 45 year old, for his support of the “Women Life Freedom” movement in Iran. He delivered a speech on November 19th 2022 following the tragic deaths of activists in the city of Bookan during a period of mass demonstrations in the region. Subsequently, he was arrested and has now been convicted, receiving a death sentence for his speech. Additionally, he has been sentenced to serve 16 years in prison before facing execution. Nemiran Center condemns this inhumane verdict in the strongest possible terms.
