On November 16, Sohrab Rahmati was the intended target of a terrorist attack in Erbil, northern Iraq. As a result, he sustained severe injuries and required medical treatment. Fortunately, he underwent a successful operation and is now out of immediate danger. However, he remains hospitalized for ongoing monitoring and surveillance.

Sohrab Rahmati is not only a lawyer but also a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (Iran). He serves as the legal representative for numerous cases involving attacks on Kurdish opposition members in exile. Additionally, he holds a prominent position within the human rights organization Qalay Damdam.

During an interview, Sohrab Rahmati disclosed that he had been receiving threats from the Iranian Security forces, Sepah, prior to the attack. He also believes that there have been multiple instances of attempted data theft, which he suspects were initiated by the Iranian forces. Despite these challenges, he remains steadfast in his commitment to his work and will continue to address the issues he is currently involved in.
