In memory of my dear brother and comrade Omar Ahmadi
Comrade Omar Ahmadi was born in 1338 Iranian Calender (1959), in a working-class family in a village “Shipanjo” of Saqez city. Comrade Omar spent his childhood in the same village and went to school in a village “Talajar” where he finished primary school. He went to Saqez to continue his education, because he was a smart student. He completed his diploma in the same city. He became acquainted with various political groups and circles there, and he became involved in political issues.
During the uprising of the Iranian people in 1978, he took an active part and started organizational relations with “Komala” and became a supporter of that organization. After the uprising of the Iranian people and in the political turmoil of that time and the emergence of trade unions and political organizations and the establishment of the Student Council in Saqez, he was elected as a member of the Student Council. He was active in setting up and organizing dozens of rallies against the newly established Islamic Regime. After the Islamic Republic’s invasion of Kurdistan, Omar remained alive in the city of Saqez and bravely continued his political and organizational activities in the secret organization of Komala. Collecting donations, medicine, and distributing Komala’s publications was the major part of his work. He was arrested once in 1981 during these activities, but the regime did not find out his secret and was forced to release him after one month torture.
Omar continued his political work. He was arrested on 11.02.1361 Iranian Calendar (01.05.1982) at 4 o’clock pm which was the International Labor Day near the Eagle Square in the city of Saqez due to being identified by a notorious local mercenary named (…) by a group of armed guards called “Sarollah” who were known as the batsmen of the Islamic regime of Iran and did not hesitate in harassing the Kurdish people. He was sent to the prison of the Revolutionary Guards in Saqez. Visiting him was denied to his family for three and a half months. He was subjected to the most severe persecution and torture, but he resisted and did not kneel down. The regime got desperate after it couldn’t force him to confess.
The Iranian guards carried out another vicious conspiracy and brought another mercenary named (…) who was in the area and knew Omar to the interrogation room and gave false testimony and lied that he had seen Omar when he was armed. However, Omar vehemently denied the allegations and did not succumb to this false accusation. After this incident, he was tortured several times to force him to kneel down and even visits were forbidden so that the effects of the torture on his body would not be revealed.
The prison became another field of struggle and resistance for Comrade Omar, and he continued his efforts there and did not give up. He was repeatedly told and promised his freedom, when he would repent publicly via a TV confession. But Comrade Omar never succumbed to the demands of the torturers and refused to cooperate with the regime’s repentant apparatus. Finally, although he did not accept any charges, the repressive apparatus of the Islamic Republic of Iran executed Omar Ahmadi along with six other Saqez combatants one summer day of August. In this way, my dear brother and friend, Comrade Omar Ahmadi, joined the immortals of freedom and equality. The names of these unforgettable are as follows:
- Omar Ahmadi

- Taha Faraji
- Ata Monir
- Saleh Sohrabi

It should be noted that the prison authorities unfortunately did not deliver the body to his family despite repeated request of his family to receive his body. His family was told that the body was buried in the city cemetery of Qorwa City. In this way, the body disappeared.
Long live their paths and memories.
