The first branch of the Urmia Revolutionary Court sentenced five Kurdish political prisoners to death on charges of “fighting against God and opposing the Islamic Republic of Iran” on July 6th 2025. The names are as following: Pajman Soltani, Soran Qasemi, Tayfour Salimi Babamiri, Rzegar Beygzadeh Babamiri and Kawa Salehi from Bukan who have been detained in Urmia prison. No evidence has been provided to court to prove their guilt. They were arrested by the Intelligence Forces of Bukan and later transferred to Urmia Intelligence Department in April 2024 being accused of participating in the mass protests “Woman, Life, Freedom” in 2022 in the city of Bukan. They have been exposed to merciless mental and physical torture.
Nemiran Center strongly condemns this mass death sentence demanding the abolition of this barbaric court ruling and calls for solidarity with their families.
