Today, on 29th December 2023, three Kurdish prisoners, namely Wafa Hanara, Aram Omari Bardiani, and Rahman Parhazoo, were executed in Urmia prison. The execution was carried out on the grounds of alleged espionage for Israel. The families of the prisoners have been informed by prison officials and the city’s Revolutionary Court officials that the bodies will not be returned to them.
Back in January 2023, the Kurdish human rights organization HENGAW had already reported the death sentence of these individuals. The sentence was issued by the third branch of the Urmia Revolutionary Court, under the supervision of Judge Najafzadeh. They were charged with providing information and engaging in espionage for Israel.
The Nemiran Center strongly condemns the execution of these three citizens and the refusal to return their bodies to their families. This act is deemed inhumane and a clear violation of human rights.
