The news published by independent news agencies indicates that a Kurdish citizen from Piranshahr died in the prison of Intelligence Department in Urmiyeh under the torture of interrogators.
According to Hengaw news website (a Kurdish Independent Human Rights Organization), the Intelligence Department of Urmiyeh City informed the family of Musa Ismaili, a detainee in the prison of this Department, to pick up his body there. When Musa’s family went there, the department refused to hand over the body. They were even threatened not to hold a funeral.
Musa was arrested on 17/02/1402 Iranian Calendar (7th Mai 2023) by the Intelligence Department of Piranshahr City without a warrant. His car was confiscated at the same time. Musa’s lawyer and family were not allowed to visit him and no trial was held for him. His family is sure that he died under the cruel torture.
According to the information, the Musa Ismaili’s burial permit was signed by a doctor named “Dr. Peyman Hasanpour” with medical system number “86530”. This document indicates that he died one day after his arrest on 18/02/1402 Iranian Calendar (8th Mai 2023) due to “multiple brain injuries and internal bleeding”, “severe brain damage and internal abdominal viscera” and “hit by multiple projectiles with high speed”. His family was informed by the authorities more than 2 months later about his death without receiving his corpse.
